1117 - PSG Profiency Testing (Hands-on Training) Leica Geosystems will be offering proctored proficiency testing to our customers who are interested in becoming certified as a Forensic Laser Scan Technician using the Leica ScanStation. ISO/IEC 17025:2005 section 2.1 (d) requires the demonstration of technical competency of equipment and this testing is designed to satisfy that requirement. It is the recommendation of Leica Geosystems that any person or entity that 1) recognizes, collects, analyzes, or interprets physical evidence AND (2) issues test or examination results, provides laboratory reports, or offers interpretations, conclusions, or opinions through testimony with respect to the analysis of such evidence should strongly consider getting certified. According to work products created by the National Commission on Forensic Science that includes crime scene units and those performing crime scene reconstruction. Testing is by appointment only. 2103 - Development of Hanger and Support Modeling System in Intergraph Smart 3D MHPS (Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems, LTD.) developed a semi-automatic hanger and support modeling system in Intergraph Smart 3D using AIR (Assembly Information Rule). This system has simplified modeling of hanger and supports where parts are selected using external program provided by support suppliers, thus assuring that sizes are in accordance with standards. It can also produce support detail drawings with information of structures and piping to which the hanger and support is connected. 2105 - Changing the Change Management Process The existing process for tracking change management at IHI E&C was a manual, paper-based, labor-intensive system. It involved Excel reporting/logging, manual upkeep, redundancy of data entry, and much out-of-date or incomplete information. The company decided to create a system that saves time and money while increasing accuracy. 2106 - EPC Design using WBS Isometrics Burns & McDonnell took on the challenge of developing a flexible solution for generating piping isometric packages for supporting multiple contractors on a single project. The decision was made to migrate from the generation of isometrics based upon pipelines to the more flexible WBS-based approach. Details of this transition will be discussed, including setting up required constructs such as design volumes, filters, and labels.
