Session Description

RheticusĀ® Displacement uses Smart M.App technology to continuously monitor millimeter-level movements that would impact the stability of buildings or infrastructure. Using multi-temporal satellite radar images, the service is complementary to traditional survey methods, providing a long-term solution for ground surface instability monitoring. This breakout session features MM SpA, the Italia company that manages the water and wastewater network in the city of Milan. This unique cloud-based service helps organizations and professionals in utilities, engineering, and network operations get accurate information about an infrastructure's stability. The service is also useful for monitoring slow-moving landslides or tunneling-induced subsidence, and provides inputs for a ground surface displacement warning system. By using the open satellite data freely available thanks to the European Sentinel mission, this monitoring service is available worldwide.
